Midsummer Nights at the DSC June 13!

A new summer series for Detroit called Midsummer Nights in Midtown is here! Taking place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the whole month of June, this free summer series provides a wide variety of arts and cultural programming for everyone to enjoy at Midtown Detroit’s wide array of museums, galleries and entertainment venues.

On Saturday, June 13th, the event makes its way to the Detroit Science Center with a special, family friendly treat: the Hudson Vagabond Puppets performing “Butterfly: The Story of a Life Cycle.” Learn about the life cycle of the monarch butterfly presented through larger-than-life puppetry and mask performance. Clad in black, the puppeteers of Hudson Vagabond Puppets borrow from the traditional Japanese Bunraku style of puppetry, becoming mere shadows of the enormous figures they bring to life.

Shows at 4:30pm, 6:30pm, and 8:30pm. Midsummer Youth Artists Market and Children’s Make-n-Take Activities from 4:00pm-10:00pm.
