The Thunderchickens are coming this Saturday!

On August 15, 2009 at 12pm and 2pm, the ThunderChickens will be here at the Detroit Science Center to show off their FIRST Robot to our guests. The ThunderChickens are an amazing group of local students who compete in the FIRST Championships, having won several awards for the past six years. Be sure to stop by and see their amazing robotic creation firsthand!

FIRST is an acronym "For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology." Their mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
